What are Cookies ?

Cookies are delicious baked treats, Cookies’ are small files of information that are directly sent to your device and are stored on its hard drive to allow our websites to recognise you whenever you visit. 

The main purpose of a cookie is to identify users and possibly prepare customised Web pages or to save site login information for you.

The opt-out cookie tells the website not to install third party advertiser or other cookies on your browser. This prevents the third party ad server from tracking your page preferences within a website or among websites within their network. The drawback to using opt-out cookies is that they are site specific

How to remove cookies?

Select the browse you use to find out how to delete or remove cookies from your device:

In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, click Privacy, then do any of the following:

  1. Prevent trackers from using cookies and website data to track you: Select “Prevent cross-site tracking”.

    Cookies and website data are deleted unless you visit and interact with the trackers’ websites.

  2. Always block cookies: Select “Block all cookies”.

    Websites, third parties and advertisers can’t store cookies and other data on your Mac. This may prevent some websites from working properly.

  3. Always allow cookies: Deselect “Block all cookies”.

    Websites, third parties and advertisers can store cookies and other data on your Mac.

  4. Remove stored cookies and data: Click Manage Website Data, select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

    Removing the data may reduce tracking, but may also log you out of websites or change website behaviour.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More Moreand then Settings.
  3. Under “Privacy and security,” click Site settings.
  4. Click Cookies.

From here, you can:

    • Turn on cookies: Next to “Blocked,” turn on the switch.
    • Turn off cookies: Turn off Allow sites to save and read cookie data.
  1. In Internet Explorer, select the Tools  button, point to Safety, and then select Delete browsing history.

  2. Select the Cookies and website data check box, and then select Delete.

Block or allow cookies

If you don’t want sites to store cookies on your PC, you can block cookies. But doing this might prevent some pages from displaying correctly, or you might get a message from a site letting you know that you need to allow cookies to view that site.

  1. In Internet Explorer, select the Tools  button, and then select Internet options.

  2. Select the Privacy tab, and under Settings, select Advanced and choose whether you want to accept, block, or be prompted for first-party and third-party cookies.
